Key highlights:

• 15 O-RAN members participated in the O-RAN PlugFest Spring 2024 at Asia & Pacific OTIC in Singapore.
• 13 different test scenarios completed successfully, including: (i) O-RAN WG4 O-RU & O-DU conformance testing, (ii) O-RAN TIFG E2E testing, (iii) O-RAN energy efficiency and savings testing, (iv) test automation, and (v) O-RAN RIC and xApp/rApp testing.
• Demonstrated the PlugFest theme on “consistent and repeatable testing in multiple labs” with two other OTICs: North America OTIC in the Boston Area and Japan OTIC (Rakuten Mobile, YRP R&D Promotion Committee).
• Demonstrated consistent and repeatable testing of the same device-under-test with two different test and measurement solutions.

The Asia & Pacific OTIC in Singapore jointly hosted O-RAN PlugFest Spring 2024 with (i) North American OTIC in the Boston Area (Northeastern University), and (ii) Japan OTIC (Rakuten Mobile and YRP R&D Promotion Committee).

The Asia & Pacific OTIC in Singapore (APOS) is hosted by the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) and is the first OTIC in South-East Asia. The Asia & Pacific OTIC in Singapore serves as part of the global OTIC network and South-East Asia’s hub to the global Open RAN ecosystem. 

​During PlugFest Spring 2024, our venue supported the following high-level scope:

• Demonstrate consistent and repeatable testing in multiple labs (PlugFest theme)
• O-RAN Energy efficiency and savings testing​
• O-RAN deployment templates, DevOps, and test automation​
• O-RAN RIC and xApp/rApp testing​

Throughout the PlugFest, Asia & Pacific OTIC in Singapore and partners achieved the following meaningful results:

• In both Asia & Pacific OTIC in Singapore and North America OTIC in the Boston Area: successfully demonstrated consistent and repeatable testing for Synergy Design’s O-DU, together with Keysight Technologies.
• In both Asia & Pacific OTIC in Singapore and Japan OTIC: successfully demonstrated consistent and repeatable testing for NEC massive MIMO O-RU, together with Keysight Technologies.
• In Asia & Pacific OTIC in Singapore, successfully completed multiple test scenarios for O-RAN WG4 O-RU and O-DU open fronthaul conformance testing, O-RAN TIFG E2E testing, O-RAN energy efficiency and savings testing, together with the following O-RAN members:
  • O-RU: LiteON, VVDN, Metanoia
  • O-DU: SynaXG
  • E2E: G REGINS, Quanta Cloud Technologies (QCT)
  • RIC, xApp, rApp: Capgemini, VMWare by Broadcom, NYCU WisDON Lab
  • Test & Measurement: Keysight, Rohde & Schwarz, VIAVI, Calnex

Asia & Pacific OTIC in Singapore hosted an Open Lab Day (27 May 2024) and an online readout session (28 May 2024) with all participating O-RAN members to showcase the completed test scenarios.
