We were pleased to host an engaging session at FCCLab, SUTD, on 25 February 2026, bringing together partners from Singapore and the UK to demonstrate the latest technologies from the BEACON project titled “A Platform for Beyond-5G Intent Driven Advanced Connectivity Services with End-to-End Network Exposure and Network APIs” , which is funded by the UK DSIT Tactical Fund. The BEACON project team members include University of Sussex, SUTD, Honda R&D Europe (UK), and SUTD spinoff company NeuroRAN.
The programme featured a welcome and introduction to SUTD and the Future Communications R&D Programme (FCP) by A/Prof. Binbin Chen, followed by insights from Ms Chandu Chaudhary of the British High Commission on UK–Singapore R&D collaboration opportunities. Prof. Maziar Nekovee from University of Sussex, who is the lead PI of the BEACON project presented the project’s objectives, progress, and key achievements.
Attendees gained valuable perspectives through hybrid presentations and live demonstrations, including project use case presented by Mr. Simon Davies from Honda R&D Europe (UK), AI-RAN innovation from NeuroRAN presented by Mr. Dennis Juan, and joint UK–Singapore testbed demonstrations showcasing advancements from the UK–Singapore R&D joint project presented by Mr. You Haoyu from University of Sussex and Dr. Ngo Van Mao from FCCLab.
We would like to thank all speakers, partners, and participants for their valuable contributions and support in making this session a success. The project strengthens collaboration between the UK and Singapore in future communications R&D.
