Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) and spinoff NeuroRAN have partnered LITEON Technology to showcase an AI-RAN milestone—how AI can be natively integrated into 5G Radio Access Networks (RAN), enabling real-time, privacy-preserving, and energy-efficient edge AI applications. Using dynamic AI model partitioning and AI-driven spectrum sensing, the solution adapts workloads between device and edge/cloud to cut latency, improve energy efficiency and keep sensitive data on-device. This helps accelerate AI-RAN from proof of concept towards commercialisation for smart city, surveillance and industrial automation applications. The solution runs on NVIDIA’s AI platform, integrating the Aerial SDK and high-performance computing to tightly couple AI with 5G networks.
