Mao has both industrial and academic experience, he worked as a Software Engineer for telecommunication products, and was a Research Assistant at SUTD working on a wireless body area networks project. Upon his PhD graduation, he worked as a Research Fellow at SUTD focusing on Federated Learning project. Prior to joining FCP, he was also a Research Fellow in I2R, A*STAR, working on applying machine learning to cybersecurity.
His research interests include Machine Learning, Federated Learning, Edge Computing, 5G and beyond, and Data Mining for IoT. Mao’s research topics were mainly on wireless sensor networks and scheduling for IoT networks.

Yeo Siow Long

Siow Long has 17 years of working experience in telco as an operations and maintenance engineer. He is mainly responsible for the deployment, implementation and maintenance of RAN and backhaul network.

Xian Loong worked as an engineer in a telco and views communications technology as a double-edge sword, a tool to be used responsibly. He likes seeking knowledge. In his free time, he enjoys playing hide and seek with his 2-year-old daughter.

Hariz Yet

Hariz is a Software Engineer by training with varied Experience. He started his own start-up providing Software Consulting Services in 2017, then joining Beca Ltd, where he worked in the Digital Consultancy department for 3.5 years. He has experience working with clients from a wide range of industries, understanding and analysing their needs and where required, building solutions for them. He was then awarded the Future Communication Research & Development Scholarship in 2022 and is currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Security by Design at SUTD. He also volunteers in Marine Conservation and Mentoring career switchers. He is now responsible for research and development in the realm of cyber security for 5G and beyond networks.
