GRANT CALLS FOR FUTURE COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGIES

Grant calls will be issued by SUTD for both research and translation efforts that will focus on Connectivity^[1], Edge Computing^[2] & Intelligence, Security, and Hardware. The programme aims to encourage use of research to solve global industry challenges and push demand lead research outcomes towards products for the industry. Submission from RIs and AUs are strongly encouraged to have identified industry and or public agency partners.

^[1] This will look beyond 5G mobile comms and into areas such as the intersection of satellite and mobile comms to complement networks on land, to cover hard to reach areas such as sea.

^[2] Edge computing refers to the capturing, storing, processing and analysing of data near the client, where it is highly decentralised but closer to where things and people produce or consume that information. This results in better latency.
